Michelle L. Cassidy focuses exclusively on family law in her practice, having earned her J.D. cum laude with a Certificate in Family Law from DePaul University College of Law. Michelle’s advocacy in family law sparked from a long-time interest in helping others during crisis. After college, Michelle worked at a nonprofit organization in her hometown, Columbus, OH where she provided financial counseling regarding foreclosure, bankruptcy, and credit matters during the 2008 global financial crisis. Three years later, Michelle started attending law school and during that time she also clerked for a respected Guardian ad Litem and family law firm, and also earned the Benjamin Hooks Distinguished Service Award (200+ volunteer hours.)
Michelle focuses on empowering her clients and pays significant attention to strategic goal planning throughout a matter. Michelle’s experience is varied, having counseled clients in mediation and high-conflict litigation matters. In particular, Michelle’s family law experience includes working on complex, high net worth matters involving business interests; international matters; and child relocation matters.
Michelle enjoys being an advocate and legal adviser in her practice. Her clients can depend on her attentiveness and deep consideration about their family law matter. Michelle loves spending time with her family in Park Ridge and is actively involved in the Chicago Bar Association and DePaul College of Law Alumni Engagement Board. Michelle has also been distinguished as a Rising Star by her peers for three consecutive years: 2019, 2020, & 2021.
